Dear Dr Edward, I would like to thankyou for your home visit to my beautiful dog/puppy. Your kind words and affiliation with pets is most second to none (outstanding). I feel very confident that you know what you are doing and there are several points in my opinion that show you are a leader in your chosen field.
All in all we are very happy and we will definitely be in touch when the need arises. Thankyou again |

"Thank you Dr Edward, Luckily we remembered Dr Edward was a dog massager. After 4 massages and some reiki healing I feel like a new limp free dog. The healing also helped make me a happier dog, resolving a lot of my fears from unknown previous owners who abandoned me when I was a youngster. I now also have my vaccinations homeopathically, which fits in with my family's natural therapy choice of treatment where possible."

We have used Edward as our mobile vet since moving to Balgal Beach from Victoria in December 2007. He has treated both of our RSPCA rescued dogs - Roxy (spoodle) and Finn (border collie x) and what impressed us the most was his gentle approach at getting to know the dogs first before vaccinating or treating them. Many vets are pushed for time and rush you in and out in 5 minutes and you barely get time to ask any questions. He has a very thorough and refreshing approach and is genuinely interested in every aspect of the pets life. It is obvious that he loves animals. He really gets to 'know' the animal and make it feel comfortable with him and is generous with his time. He offers FREE advice over the phone to any pet owner needing assistance which is very comforting to know:)

| Wendy and Digger |
Background InformationTime : 0545 Date : Sunday morning 25th January 2009, halfway through a long weekend. Event : “Digger” a 14 year old Jack Russell Chihuahua cross appears distressed. He rapidly deteriorates to a point where he can no longer stand or sit without falling over. His front legs become rigid and he has a fixed glassy stare, appearing to be paralysed. Action 1: I call a vet, the first emergency 24 hr number I can find in the phone book. Result 1: I get an answering machine giving information as to office hours. Digger’s breathing becomes laboured. I feel there’s no time to continue to listen to the answering machine message. I need a real person and fast action. Action 2 : I remember the details of Dr Edward Bassingthwaite the mobile vet and ring him at 0600. Result 2 : He answers the phone, personally! I give him the details and arrange to meet him at his office. He can hear the fear in my voice and gently urges me to take a few deep breaths before I begin the hour drive into town in very heavy rain. This advice was very wise and gratefully accepted. His quiet calm manner was very reassuring. OutcomeDr Edward meets me at the front gate with an umbrella and we proceed inside where, in his gentle and calm way, he examines Digger and takes the time to reassure me. He patiently answers a barrage of questions while continuing to work on Digger with insightful concern, not only for his physical wellbeing, but also his emotional state. He advocates treatment that does not stress the animal with extra fear. After 30 mins of gentle handling and natural medication, Digger shows signs of improvement. Dr Edward continues his treatment for 2 hours, by which time Digger is able to sit up on his own and also lie down. His eyes appear normal and he is able to move his head. Cost : Remembering that I woke Dr Edward at 0600 on a Sunday morning of a long weekend and that he spent 2 hours treating Digger……………………very fair and reasonable! I found Dr Edward to be a kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable professional who was not only able to successfully treat Digger but also calm the rising hysteria in Digger’s mum! I will be forever grateful. Wendy Elliott…………Balgal Beach |
| N. Battersby and Amber |
I inherited Amber, a 10 Y.O. Labrador, who was suffering from neglect caused by the previous owner's inability to cope with, or to fully understand the needs of a dog. Amber arrived in a poor condition, overwhelmed by fleas, and with the long term skin, coat and appetite conditions that they cause. Amber was also incontinent, arthritic and her over-the-top affection reflected badly on her mental state. After Dr Edward gave treatment Ambers' condition improved to the point where she is a normally adapted dog, and there are no signs of her previous afflictions. Dr Edward has a holistic approach to veterinary care that is severely lacking in the main stream and his "bedside manner" serves the "patient" well. N.Battersby

| Pauline and Lexie cat |
Lexie and I are so pleased that we found you. You are definitely the answer to the 'visit to the vet' syndrome, I will use this Home Visit service you offer just to save that journey which upsets me more than the animals. Apart from that you come across as a caring vet and that is a big plus. Your use of natural medicine in conjunction with conventional medicine is an absolute joy to be involved with.

| Linda and Patches |
My beautiful (nervous) cat, Patches, had a stressful week with six burly workmen paving our front and two side verandas. You can imagine the noise and disruption to his normally quiet and peaceful life, as he is usually the only 'person' home on week days. Then on Saturday Dr. Edward arrived to give Patches his yearly vaccination. Oh No! I had a terrified cat hiding under a bed. But he came out to my soothing assurance that everything would be "Okay". Then he saw Dr. Edward, (was this one of those workmen who had upset his previous week? I'm sure he was thinking), as I held him I felt the panic in his body. But Dr. Edward was not concerned by Patches' fears, and started to talk to him, he told me he would do some 'Energy Balancing' treatment on him, and started stroking Patches. In no time I noticed calmness come over my cat and it didn't take long for him to start purring. To accept affection from anyone besides my husband and myself is out of character for Patches, so I was very relieved that he trusted Dr. Edward. The 'Energy Balancing' seemed to be the secret to the tranquility I now witnessed and the examination and vaccination went effortlessly after that. Linda Pattison Capr Cleveland |
