Here is what Dr Edward has to say about why he started the Home Visit Vet practice in the first place... "I got so tired of seeing stressed out, scared animals- dogs panting and scrabbling, trying to get out the door, and cats who had messed in their carry boxes. Most of the animals I saw were in a terrible emotional state, so I just had to find a way to give them the care they deserve, while allowing them to be happy and relaxed!" 

You can think of the service the Home Visit Vet provides as being just like the service your own GP or Doctor provides, but in the comfort of your own home, and for your well loved friend. Dr Edward will be able to help you with your pet's health needs, right where you are.

Please Note- Dr Edward can only provide a full Veterinary service to residents of Queensland, Australia. Veterinary Consultations - Sick Pets:

If you have a pet who is sick, or just off colour, or if you want to have a regular health checkup, Dr Edward will give your pet a thorough examination, and may decide to perform diagnostic tests if need be. Then you will be given the treatment your pet needs.

The Home Visit Vet carries a full kit of veterinary supplies and the standard pharmaceuticals (eg antibiotics, pain killers etc) that most people are familiar with. Dr Edward also offers an extensive range of natural, or complementary medicines such as Dietary Supplements, Homeopathic Remedies, Bach Flower Essences, and Australian Bush Flower Essences.

Disease Protection: Vaccination Boosters or Homeopathic Nosodes

Disease protection is VERY IMPORTANT... But Vaccines may harm your pet! (Most vets won't tell you this.) And even under the best conditions, in healthy animals, vaccination only gives about 80% - 90% protection. Good research out of the USA in recent times indicates that standard vaccinations give good protection for anything from 3 to 5 years, or even longer! The Home Visit Vet offers Three Yearly Vaccinations for Dogs.

Dr Edward provides two options for disease protection for your pet. You may still choose to Vaccinate your pet (and Dr Edward will use a natural homeopathic remedy with the vaccination to reduce the incidence of adverse effects)- or- Dr Edward offers disease protection for your pet using Homeopathic Nosodes. 

Dr Edward chooses not to vaccinate his own pets.

Holistic Health, Integrative Medicine:

Dr Edward uses a lot of complementary, natural treatments- the western model of medicine is focused on treating symptoms, Natural Medicine focuses on treating the whole animal, making them stronger from the inside out. Dr Edward uses the Integrative Medicine model- using a combination of Western medicine, with more Natural Treatments, to help your pet get "Better than Well".

Whole Energy Body Balancing (WEBB) Sessions:

How do you tell if your pet has a sore back? It's not so easy- Dr Edward finds that about two thirds of all pets have a sore back. A WEBB session is a combination of massage, accupressure, and subtle energy balancing that Dr Edward has developed over his years of practice. Each session gently unlocks tension and pain from the body, leaving your pet happier, and free to move. Your pet will Love it, and you will notice the difference!

Minor Surgery:

Dr Edward can stitch up wounds, remove small lumps, and desex male cats- anything that it is possible to do with a sedation and local anaesthetic (just like your own GP does). Dr Edward is also able to do needle biopsies of any lumps and bumps you may be concerned about, and so find out if they are benign or perhaps cancerous.

Euthanasia:

 It's never an easy time... But it's a whole lot nicer for your old friend to be able to pass on in peace, without the added stress of having to take them into a vet clinic. Dr Edward can help your old pet move on with dignity, in the place they feel most at home.

An average home visit with the Home Visit Vet costs approximately the same as an average visit to a veterinary hospital.
